A dispute fueled by alcohol consumption escalated into a murder in Oppangi village, Srikakulam district, on October 5. The Times of India reported that police have arrested N Neelappadu and his relative R Praveen in connection with the incident.

According to the police, Mohan Rao and Simma Srinu of Simmapeta village consumed alcohol at a liquor shop near Oppangi on the night of October 5. They later proceeded to a fast-food centre for snacks.

Meanwhile, Neelappadu and his relative Praveen also consumed liquor and arrived at the same fast-food centre. When Neelappadu was speaking loudly on his phone, Mohan Rao suggested that he either speak slowly or go outside to talk.

This suggestion led to an escalation of the dispute, which resulted in a clash and ultimately the murder, police stated. The incident occurred under the Srikakulam rural police station limits.

This incident highlights the severe consequences that can arise from disputes following alcohol consumption in the community. It underscores the need for individuals to exercise greater responsibility in their conduct.
