At least 20 men from Telangana have reportedly fallen into a recruitment network that allegedly took them to Russia after promising civilian jobs, with some believed to be deployed for military duties in the Russia-Ukraine war, according to Hyderabad Mail.

While some of these individuals have returned home, others remain stranded in Russia, as reported by Hyderabad Mail. Four of them are believed to have been deployed for military duties in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, as stated by TOI.

Families of the affected individuals reported that agents specifically targeted job seekers looking for overseas employment. These agents promised positions such as cooks, cleaners, gardeners, mechanics, support staff, and manual workers.

In one specific instance, Megavath Prakash of Dammannapet in Dharpally mandal paid ₹2.4 lakh to Madhava Rao of Ramadugu to cover visa and travel expenses, according to Hyderabad Mail.

This situation highlights a concerning trend where job seekers from Telangana are being exploited by recruitment networks. The deployment of some individuals to military duties in the Russia-Ukraine war underscores the severe risks involved for those seeking overseas employment through unofficial channels.
