Telangana Police have arrested drug trafficker Preetish Borkar in Goa. The 36-year-old accused, who was involved in a high-profile drug case reported in Hyderabad in 2022, was apprehended during a special operation in Goa on October 12.

According to police, Borkar allegedly resumed drug trafficking after his release from prison. He was reportedly supplying drugs to nearly 1,000 people across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

The Telangana Police’s specialized Eagle Force tracked Borkar to Goa following intelligence inputs and an investigation into two recent drug-related cases registered at the Miyapur and Allapur police stations.

A special team kept watch on him for several days before taking him into custody on October 12. An alleged associate was also apprehended, and drugs worth Rs 1.5 lakh were seized.

Borkar is currently being brought to Telangana on a Prisoner Transit (PT) warrant. This arrest is considered a significant blow to the drug supply network operating in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

This arrest plays a crucial role in curbing drug supply targeting youth in our states. It helps in reducing the social problems caused by drug use.
