An FIR was registered on the 16th of this month against a woman from Telangana residing in Jammu and Kashmir. The case was filed based on allegations of her involvement with Chinese intelligence operatives.
Officials stated that the woman is currently living with her husband within the jurisdiction of the Gandhi Nagar Police Station in Jammu. They confirmed her origin as Telangana.
Some Chinese intelligence agents contacted her via social media. They introduced themselves as professors and academics from prominent universities.
Initially, they engaged the educated woman to write research articles on environmental and geopolitical topics. This was how they drew her into their network.
Subsequently, they gradually shifted her focus towards collecting sensitive information related to the defense sector. Police are investigating the matter.
