The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has arranged 7,000 special buses to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during the Dasara festival. These services began operating on October 10.
Approximately 95% of the scheduled special bus services are already in operation. However, passengers using these special buses will incur a fare that is 50% higher than regular ticket prices.
Corporation officials anticipate a further increase in passenger numbers on October 17 and 18. Consequently, instructions have been issued to deploy additional buses on routes experiencing high demand.
TGSRTC Managing Director Y Nagi Reddy has directed field officers to oversee the special bus operations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that travelers do not face any inconvenience during the festive period.
Reddy confirmed that provisions for drinking water, rest facilities, sanitation, and security have been made at bus stations. Regular trains to various destinations are fully booked, and airfares on key routes have doubled.
