Katteramalla Ramesh (28), from Mulkanoor village in Chigurumamidi mandal, tragically died after being electrocuted while installing electric bulbs for Durga Ashtami celebrations. Ramesh, who battled for his life for a week, passed away on Monday at Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad.
According to relatives and villagers, the Sarpanch had called Ramesh to install electric bulbs on poles in the village for the Durga Ashtami and Vijayadashami festivals. Ramesh, who regularly undertook electrical work for the Gram Panchayat, arrived as usual.
While Ramesh was climbing an electric pole to fix the bulbs, he accidentally touched a live wire above and fell to the ground. He sustained severe injuries in the incident.
Immediately after the accident, the Sarpanch rushed Ramesh to the Karimnagar Government Hospital. However, due to his critical condition, doctors advised shifting him to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment.
