Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) officials have rejected a 12-tonne consignment of cashews intended for use in Srivari prasadam. The cashews were deemed to be of substandard quality, as reported by Andhrajyothy.

Following clear directives from Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to not compromise on quality, officials strictly adhered to the quality standards outlined in the tender regulations.

Due to the lack of quality standards, TTD officials inspected the cashews in Tirumala labs and determined them to be unfit for use.

The rejected cashews were supplied from Parvathipuram, and Andhrajyothy stated that it was a crop from tribal farmers.

Andhrajyothy reported that the cashews sent last year, which benefited middlemen, did not undergo quality tests.

This incident is significant for devotees in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as it directly impacts the quality of Tirumala prasadam, ensuring that devotees receive pure offerings.
