The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC) has withdrawn 35 plots belonging to the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd, RINL) from its land e-auction. A notice released through PIB says a court order bars their sale.
What the notice says
- Corrigendum-6, dated October 26, removes the 35 plots from the RFP dated August 31.
- Corrigendum-7, dated October 28, extends EMD registration and payment to 8 pm on November 1.
- The e-auction of the remaining plots is on November 3, 11 am to 5 pm, on eauction.enivida.com.
The first round
Deccan Chronicle and Daily Pioneer report that 256 plots were offered at the October 12 auction, about 470 bidders took part, and about 150 plots sold for ₹366 crore against management's estimate of ₹312.48 crore. Some prime plots reportedly fetched over ₹1.80 lakh per square yard. Pioneer says these figures could not be independently verified.
The notice does not name the court or give the area or value of the withdrawn plots.
