Land grabbers are allegedly using fabricated documents to seize Waqf Board properties, according to The Times of India. Waqf Board officials state that these forged documents are being used to register properties in their names, obtain approvals from agencies like the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and even get certain properties deleted from the Section 22-A prohibited properties list.

One such instance involves a purported No Objection Certificate (NOC) where the Waqf Board's chief executive officer allegedly informed the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district collector in December 2025 that the board had no claim over 54 acres in Survey Nos. 233 and 316 of Atmakur mandal. However, Waqf Board officials have declared this document to be fake. Another alleged forged NOC surfaced in connection with Survey No. 463 in Maheshwaram village of Rangareddy district.
