Andhra Pradesh is experiencing increasing pressure on its water resources, necessitating the careful conservation of every drop, Janamonline reported. The water situation in the state is changing, and failure to take precautions now could lead to severe consequences, Janamonline warned.
Deficient rainfall, dwindling water levels in reservoirs, and growing demands for drinking and irrigation water are raising concerns about future water security, according to Janamonline. These conditions underscore the urgency of water conservation in the state.
From June 1 to September 30, Andhra Pradesh recorded a rainfall deficit of 35.89 percent against the normal 599.29 mm, Janamonline stated. These figures highlight the severity of the water scarcity.
In these circumstances, saving water is not only the government's responsibility but also the duty of every citizen, Janamonline opined. It emphasized that only through collective effort can this challenge be addressed.
These water conservation measures are crucial for the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Both states rely heavily on agriculture, and deficits in rainfall and pressure on water resources directly impact the region's economy and the livelihoods of its residents.
