A woman posing as a prospective tenant robbed a 75-year-old woman in Srikakulam, according to TV9 Telugu.
The assailant targeted the homeowner, Yedla Varalakshmi, after noticing she was alone in her residence.
During the robbery, the woman threw chili powder into the elderly victim's eyes.
Following the attack, the perpetrator snatched a three-and-a-half-tola gold chain from around Varalakshmi's neck and fled the scene.
