Gudimalkapuram village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district is experiencing severe water scarcity for the Bathukamma festival immersion. Local ponds and tanks have dried up due to inadequate rainfall.

The lack of water bodies has caused difficulties for residents performing Bathukamma immersion rituals. Even during the festive period, alternative arrangements for water were necessary.

With no water in the village tanks, water tankers were deployed to provide water for the immersion ceremony. This situation highlights the prevailing drought conditions in the region.

Locals have expressed concern that the El Nino effect, leading to a rainfall deficit and delayed monsoons, is impacting water resources.
