Road encroachments are increasing daily in Yellandu town, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. Some merchants are occupying roads for their business activities, causing severe difficulties for motorists and pedestrians.
During festival seasons, this issue intensifies. Merchants are setting up tents on roads to sell goods and displaying items in front of their shops, which obstructs traffic flow, local residents said.
These encroachments are not just for a day or two but continue for 10 to 20 days, leading to ongoing inconvenience for the public.
Despite the increasing number of vehicles in the town, there is a perception that adequate attention is not being given to traffic control. Roads are meant for public movement, but their transformation into business spaces is drawing criticism.
