The film

The story of Sigma revolves around Guru, a man who is down on his luck and heavily in debt, looking to change his fortune. On the other side, there is Kotalapadi Veerayya Reddy, a gangster with immense wealth. The conflict between these two forms the theme of the film. While the narrative seems to set up a heist movie, it ultimately fails to deliver the full measure of suspense.

What works

The film has some interesting ideas, especially the backgrounds of the characters and their professions, which add some depth to the story. Sundeep Kishan and Sampath Raj deliver good screen presence in their respective roles. Some visuals and the soundtrack attempt to enhance the mood of the film.

What does not

The lack of suspense and logic are the main weaknesses in Sigma. The screenplay is weak in many places, and the chemistry between the characters does not connect well. The film fails to create the necessary suspense for a heist story, which disappoints the audience. Despite a high budget, the director failed to tell the story effectively.

Bottom line

Sigma is an average crime drama with some good ideas, but the lack of narrative cohesion and suspense is disappointing. The film feels like a missed opportunity.
