The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) on Sunday, October 18, alleged that the state-owned Telangana Overseas Manpower Company (TOMCOM) has failed to fulfill its overseas placement promises. The party demanded a white paper from the government on this issue.
Senior BRS leader Harish Rao, in a post on X, claimed that the Revanth Reddy government has turned TOMCOM into a racket that exploits unemployed youth in the name of German jobs.
He stated that approximately ₹4.10 lakh was collected from each of 70 to 75 young individuals across 15 districts. This amount increased to nearly ₹4.5 lakh when costs for exams, insurance, and visas were included.
Harish Rao also highlighted that none of the 24 candidates who spoke to the media could name a single German employer who interviewed them. He pointed out that any disputes arising from the agreement must be settled in a Lucknow court, located over 1,000 kilometers away.
The BRS has demanded a full refund of every rupee collected by TOMCOM and Fairstreet India from the candidates.
