Some college managements in Visakhapatnam are reportedly pressuring students pursuing higher education to pay fees. Despite assurances of fee reimbursement, there are allegations that students are not being allowed to take semester examinations.
Andhrajyothy reported that several college managements are stating that they will only permit students to take semester exams if the fee reimbursement arrears from the previous academic year are paid.
According to Andhrajyothy, the government has only processed fee reimbursement for students completing their courses and leaving in the 2025-26 academic year. The arrears for the remaining students are pending.
Andhrajyothy reported that college managements are currently issuing notices to students who have pending fee reimbursement amounts.
This situation is causing concern for students in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Students who rely on fee reimbursement schemes are facing difficulties in continuing their education.
