The Supreme Court has issued contempt of court notices concerning rule violations within the Intermediate Education Department. These notices address the unauthorized sanctioning of increments to contract junior lecturers.

Officials in the education department disregarded clear orders previously issued by the Supreme Court. The court stated that service rules were violated when granting these increments.

As per standard government service regulations, annual increments or other allowances are to be granted to an employee only after their probationary period is successfully completed and officially confirmed.

However, the Intermediate Education Department did not adhere to these rules when sanctioning the increments. This action has caused considerable concern among education department officials.

The court has sent contempt of court notices to the officials who violated the rules and to those responsible at the colleges involved. Further proceedings in this matter are ongoing.
