Workers from villages submerged by the Mallanna Sagar project, now part of Gajwel Prajnapur Municipality for nearly ten months, have not seen any change in their wages.
These 32 workers were integrated into the municipality in December 2025. They had previously worked at the panchayat level in their respective villages.
Despite performing duties within the municipal limits, they continue to receive only Rs. 9,500 per month. The workers have expressed their distress, stating this is the same salary paid at the panchayat level.
The workers had anticipated a wage increase after their villages merged with the municipality, but their expectations have not been met. They are urging officials to address this issue promptly.
