Vaditya Nivedita and Vaditya Akhila, daughters of farmer laborers Vaditya Yadu Naik and Papi Bai from Palugu Thanda in Narayankhed constituency, have secured MBBS seats.
The students and their family met former minister Harish Rao on October 18, 2026. Harish Rao expressed his happiness and pride that children of farmer laborers are becoming doctors.
Harish Rao noted that there was a time when medical education was perceived as accessible only to the wealthy. He stated that KCR established hundreds of residential schools across Telangana with the aim that poverty should not hinder talent.
These residential schools provided high-quality education free of cost. Harish Rao added that establishing a medical college in each district and increasing MBBS seats from 2,850 to over 10,000 in the state is yielding excellent results today.
He said that achieving MBBS seats after studying for free in residential schools reflects KCR's foresight. These initiatives have made higher education accessible to underprivileged students.
