The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is facing uncertainty regarding its elections as the three-year tenure of its Apex Council is nearing its end. In response, a group of 106 affiliated members has formally requested a Special General Meeting (SGM).
The members are seeking the SGM to discuss matters including amendments to the bye-laws, the conduct of future elections, and the role of the Single Member Committee. Technically, no Apex Council member, including the secretary, joint secretary, and treasurer, can continue in office once their tenure concludes.
Currently, the HCA operates without a president. The future of the Council became more uncertain with Tuesday, October 20, being a holiday, adding to the prevailing confusion.
Questions are being raised within the HCA regarding whether the association will come under the complete control of the Telangana High Court-appointed Single Member Committee (SMC).
