BCCI announced changes to India's squads on the New Zealand tour on October 30. Three Telugu cricketers figure in the plans.
The Telugu players
- Nitish Kumar Reddy (Andhra): named for the first ODI on November 4 only. He then joins India A for the third four-day game to get match practice before the Tests.
- Mohammed Siraj (Hyderabad): playing for India A in the second four-day game against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, from October 31 to November 3. He is also in both ODI squads.
- Tilak Varma (Hyderabad): added for the fourth and fifth ODIs.
Other changes
Prasidh Krishna is out of the ODI series as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Shreyas Iyer will captain the fourth and fifth ODIs, with Ishan Kishan as vice-captain. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul are named only for the first three ODIs; BCCI did not give a reason.
The two-match Test series begins on November 19.
