The High Court questioned the state government regarding a 250-day delay in filing an appeal against a single judge's order concerning an employee's appointment. The court directed the Principal Secretary of the Education Department to recover the fine amount from the officials responsible for the delay, Namasthe Telangana reported.

In Hyderabad on October 9, the High Court made it clear that the appeal would only be accepted for hearing if Rs. 25,000 was paid to the State Legal Services Authority. Namasthe Telangana reported this on October 10, 2026.

The Education Department had filed an appeal challenging the single judge's orders related to the service dispute of the late K. Gireesh, a teacher.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice P. Shyam Koshi and Justice Nandikonda Narsing Rao heard the appeal on Friday.

Delays by government departments in legal processes cause significant difficulties for the public, especially employees. This ruling contributes to increasing accountability in government operations.
