The Hyderabad Ranji team will play its next match against neighboring Andhra in Mulapadu starting Sunday. The team has struggled to secure an outright win at home since their promotion to the Elite Group in 2024.
This upcoming match against Andhra could pose a tough challenge for the Hyderabad squad, led by India pacer Mohammed Siraj. The Andhra Ranji team, coached by New Zealander Gary Stead, showed strong form against last season’s runners-up Karnataka, taking a first innings lead.
Ahead of the second Group B match, Hyderabad’s vice-captain and left-arm medium pacer CV Milind stressed the importance of approaching the game ‘session by session.’ The teams are expected to compete on a similar wicket where spinners from both Karnataka and Andhra performed well.
Milind stated on Saturday that the pitch in Mulapadu is likely to behave in a similar fashion to the previous game. He acknowledged Andhra as a quality side and affirmed Hyderabad's readiness for the contest.
The Andhra team, which will remain unchanged, aims to continue its momentum following a big win. Hyderabad will need to deliver a strong performance to counter Andhra's current form.
