During the COVID-19 pandemic, children were confined to their homes and many became addicted to mobile phones, struggling to put them down. This led to a lack of physical activity and disconnection from the outside world. Recognizing this issue, the Hyderabad Sports Academy has stepped in to guide these children towards a healthier lifestyle. The academy not only teaches games to children in bastis but also helps them break free from the grip of mobile phone addiction.
The academy organizes annual IPL-style sports competitions among bastis, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship among children. Many children, who spent their time with phones during the pandemic due to lack of schooling and confinement, are now finding a new lease on life through sports. This initiative is helping children stay physically and mentally healthy.
