India women's team elected to bowl first in the second T20I of the three-match series against Zimbabwe at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Sunday. Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat.

India had secured a four-wicket victory in the series opener, played two days prior at the same venue. Despite being 19/4 while chasing 115, India recovered with an 82-run partnership between debutant Niki Prasad and Deepti Sharma to win the match.

Both teams maintained their playing XIs for this second encounter, fielding the same players who participated in the series opener.

Zimbabwe captain Josephine Nkomo won the toss and opted to bat, expressing her desire to build on her team's performance from the first T20I.

Nkomo stated that she expects more runs from her middle-order batters. She noted that her team had a good start in the previous match and hopes to carry that momentum forward.

Zimbabwe has commenced their batting innings, with India's bowlers actively seeking to take early wickets.
