Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan said on Saturday that he wants to enjoy the pressure of playing the series decider against the West Indies, rather than focusing on individual statistics. The match in Bengaluru will determine the winner of the five-match series.
Kishan dismissed discussions about his status as the world's top-ranked T20I batter. He stated he is not concerned about his position in the rankings at this early stage of his career.
He asked the team to focus on preparation, intent, and execution, rather than blaming pitches or individual performances. Kishan said working together as a team is important.
The five-match series is currently level at 2-2. This game also marks the first international fixture in Bengaluru in two years.
Persistent rain delayed the start of pre-match warm-ups. India will be looking to secure a victory in this encounter to clinch the series.
Kishan advised taking one game at a time and trying to play one's best cricket. He reiterated that he does not want to look into stats at this point in his life.
