Naveen Nicholas, the Samagra Shiksha State Project Director, has submitted proposals to the government to re-appoint contract employees who were removed from service at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) for various reasons. He has requested their reinstatement in currently vacant positions.
The SPD explained in his letter that these contract staff members were removed from their jobs over the past few years due to minor operational deficiencies in school management. He noted that all individuals working in KGBVs are on a contract basis.
Nicholas stated that the majority of those removed are women from SC, ST, and BC communities. He mentioned that the affected individuals have continuously appealed, citing that they faced harsh penalties for minor errors and are now struggling without employment.
The SPD indicated that this decision was made in response to these ongoing appeals. The Samagra Shiksha department has included comprehensive details of all 24 staff members who lost their jobs in its report.
