The Krishna University Inter-Collegiate Chess Championship and team selection trials are set to be hosted by Saptagiri Degree College in Vijayawada on October 7 and 8, as reported by The Hans India.

The college management has made all necessary arrangements for the two-day tournament. Chess players from several colleges affiliated with Krishna University are expected to participate in this event.

College in-charge Principal, tournament organising committee chairman, and organising Secretary Ravicherla Raghuram stated on Monday that all participating players must be accompanied by their team managers.

The managers should either be the Physical Directors of their respective colleges or a faculty member authorised by the college, according to The Hans India.

He made it clear that players would not be permitted to participate without an accompanying team manager, emphasizing the importance of proper supervision and adherence to rules.

This championship provides a significant platform for young chess players in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to showcase their skills and potentially earn a spot on the Krishna University team.
