Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Friday requested Education Department Principal Secretary Yogita Rana to sanction Rs. 10.12 crore for strengthening educational infrastructure in 16 government schools in Khammam district.

During a meeting at the Secretariat, Minister Tummala emphasized the need to bolster public education and enhance facilities for students. The requested funds are intended for schools located in Khammam Urban and Raghunathapalem mandals.

The proposed improvements include the construction of new school buildings, necessary repairs to existing structures, and the provision of essential amenities. Additionally, the minister suggested installing digital teaching equipment and other educational tools.

A total of 2,988 students are currently enrolled in these 16 identified schools. Minister Tummala highlighted that many of these students come from economically weaker sections, backward classes, and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities.
