Former India cricketer Abhishek Nayar is keen to see young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi included in the fifth and final T20I against the West Indies, but insists the youngster must open the innings.
Nayar stated that Sooryavanshi should play in his original opening position and not bat lower down the order. India has largely fielded the same team throughout the four T20Is in the series.
The top order has featured Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan. This has meant that the 15-year-old Sooryavanshi has been on the bench for all matches so far.
Sooryavanshi has played in eight T20Is, with all his appearances coming in overseas conditions. India has opted for their tried and tested top three at home.
Nayar also supported the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav in the team. He praised Sanju Samson's explosive knock of 56 runs off 23 balls in the previous match.
The final T20I is expected to see some strategic changes as the series concludes.
