Niki Prasad's unbeaten 39 runs led India to victory at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on Friday. India was chasing a target of 115 runs and faced early trouble, losing four wickets for just 19 runs.
Niki Prasad then came to the crease and remained unbeaten with 39 runs. She formed an 82-run partnership off 63 balls with Deepti Sharma.
Deepti Sharma contributed 49 runs, while Niki Prasad stayed at the wicket until the end to guide India to victory. India successfully chased the target in 15.4 overs, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Speaking after the match, Niki Prasad said that representing India for the first time and finishing the game with a winning boundary made the occasion even more special for her.
