The costs of private education are pushing middle-class families into poverty, Andhrajyothy reported. The former pro-tem chairman, Balasubrahmanyam, stated in Hyderabad that this situation arises from the lack of quality education available in the government sector.

He expressed concern that middle-class families are spending beyond their means on private education, leading them into poverty. This trend is having a severe impact on many households.

Balasubrahmanyam made these remarks during a three-day meeting of the School Teachers Federation of India (STFI) Southern States, held at the TSUTF state office in Hyderabad.

Andhrajyothy reported that parents nationwide are spending an estimated 16 lakh crores annually on their children's school education from first to tenth grade. This highlights the significant reliance on private schooling.

It was also reported that parents are taking out loans for their children's medical expenses. This suggests that healthcare costs, in addition to education, are burdening families.

Middle-class families in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh strive to provide a good education for their children. However, with the escalating costs of private education, many families in the region are facing significant financial challenges.
