The biopic 'Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi', based on the life story of the Carnatic music exponent and legendary singer M.S. Subbulakshmi, recently commenced production. Rashmika Mandanna is set to portray the titular role in this film.
The prestigious project is being directed by Gautam Tinnanuri, known for his work on 'Jersey'. Under his direction, Rashmika Mandanna will embody the character of M.S. Subbulakshmi.
Interestingly, a film based on M.S. Subbulakshmi's life was planned a decade ago. At that time, efforts were made for a biopic with Vidya Balan in the lead role, directed by Rajiv Menon.
However, due to legal disputes, that project never materialized. Now, a new biopic is being made with Rashmika Mandanna.
