The education department in the state has delayed the utilization of funds released for the development of government schools under the Samagra Shiksha and PM Shri schemes. Out of Rs 80 crore released so far, only Rs 19 crore has been spent in the districts, officials stated. This means the state-level fund utilization stands at just 23 percent.

Despite ten video conferences held on the utilization of these funds, officials have not shown progress. Education department sources attribute the delay in works to a lack of control and insufficient capacity among DEOs. Special teams will conduct an audit in the districts on October 23 and 24.
