Indian captain Shreyas Iyer was awarded the Impact Player of the Series medal after the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. The series ended in a 2-2 draw following a washout on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a dressing-room video on Sunday showing the medal presentation. India's training assistant, Nuwan Seneviratne, presented the medal to Iyer in the video.
Iyer's performance in the series included scoring 181 runs across five innings. This notable achievement also marked his maiden T20I century.
Nuwan Seneviratne stated in the video that the Impact Medal was for the player who scored his first T20I hundred. He added that only a few Indian players have scored centuries in all three formats, and Iyer is leading effectively, even on the field.
