The Telangana Football Association (TFA) held its 12th annual general body meeting on Saturday at the Nizam Club in Hyderabad, chaired by TFA Chairman Dr K.T. Mahi. The association announced its decisions on Sunday.

Key decisions

  • A Telangana Women's League (TWL) this season
  • An AFC C licence course for coaches, adding to the existing AFC D licence and referee courses
  • Football kits for children through summer camps in every district

The TFA already runs A, B and C Division leagues, under-13 and under-15 youth leagues and inter-district state championships.

Push for funds

The meeting unanimously decided to make a "final request" to the Sports Authority of Telangana for funds for inter-district championships and coaching camps. The TFA said it may take legal steps if the money is not released. It has not yet said when the women's league will start or how many teams will play.
