The Telangana High Court has imposed a fine of 25,000 rupees on the Education Department. This penalty was levied due to a 250-day delay in filing an appeal in a particular case, as reported by Andhrajyothy.
Normally, there is a limitation period of 30 days for filing an appeal. However, the Education Department exceeded this limit by 250 days.
According to Andhrajyothy, the Principal Secretary of the Education Department, the Regional Joint Director of School Education, and the Hyderabad District Education Officer were responsible for this delay.
The High Court has ordered that the entire fine amount be deposited with the State Legal Services Authority within two weeks.
This ruling underscores the importance of government departments fulfilling their responsibilities in a timely manner and not showing negligence.
This judgment is significant for Telangana as administrative delays within the education system can impact students and other stakeholders in the state.
