Voter registration for the Mahabubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad and Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda graduates' MLC constituencies has been extended. Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy said Form-18 applications will be accepted until the last date for nominations, after technical faults and server failures hit the online portal.
The earlier deadline was November 6. The Election Commission of India has not yet announced the poll schedule, so the new cut-off date will be known only when it does.
What the parties said
- Congress candidate Sama Rammohan Reddy said the CEO website had been down since November 1.
- BRS leader Krishank said the portal had been down since 5 PM the previous evening, and BRS MLC Dasoju Sravan took the issue to the ECI.
- Kavitha asked that registration stay open until nominations and said the CEO agreed to consider it. She also alleged that owners of educational institutions were organising bulk registrations.
The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the rolls continues until November 21.
