The Telangana government has deposited teaching fees and scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year directly into students' accounts. These funds were released within four months of the application processing commencing.
Officials reported that a total of Rs 930 crore has been credited to the personal bank accounts of 2.28 lakh students. Government figures indicate that each student received an average of approximately Rs 40,000.
The government is progressing rapidly towards its objective of providing funds to students pursuing post-intermediate courses within the same academic year. In just one month, an additional one lakh students had their full fees for the current year deposited into their accounts.
The government stated that this fund release will provide financial support to students and encourage them to pursue higher education. These funds are intended to assist students with their educational requirements.
