The Telangana School Education Department will establish 29 Young India Institutes of Excellence within Telangana Model Schools (TGMS) for the 2026-27 academic year. These institutes are designed to provide coaching for competitive examinations such as IIT-JEE, NEET, and CLAT.
Out of the 29 new centres, 20 will focus on preparing students for the IIT-JEE and NEET examinations. The remaining nine centres will specifically cater to students aspiring for the CLAT examination.
The department has indicated that this initiative will benefit a total of 3,920 students across all 29 locations. It aims to enhance access to competitive exam coaching for government school students pursuing higher education in engineering, medicine, and law.
Each centre dedicated to IIT-JEE and NEET coaching will be staffed with six faculty members. Similarly, every CLAT coaching centre will have five faculty members to guide the students.
Part-time faculty will be engaged for a period of 152 working days to deliver the coaching. This program is intended to make quality competitive examination preparation more accessible to students from government schools.
