Hundreds of travellers from Telangana were left stranded at airports across Saudi Arabia on Tuesday as the ongoing Houthi-Saudi conflict severely disrupted air travel. This conflict has caused significant inconvenience for passengers.
Community leaders stated that most flights had either been cancelled or rescheduled, often at short notice, leaving passengers in limbo. Srinivas Maccha, president of the Saudi Arabia Telugu Association (SATA), noted that several airlines are communicating these changes only about 24 hours in advance.
Some services have been pushed to dates beyond October 17. These sudden alterations have completely disrupted travellers' plans, posing a significant challenge, especially for those travelling in emergencies.
Srinivas Maccha advised travellers facing emergencies to consider alternative routes via Qatar, the UAE, or Bahrain. He suggested that these countries can be reached by road.
Travellers from Telangana heading to or returning from Saudi Arabia are significantly affected by these disruptions. It is advisable for them to carefully review their travel plans and continuously check for the latest information from airlines.
