The Telangana Finance Department has issued orders approving the recruitment of 429 Assistant Professor positions across seven universities in the state. These appointments fall under the purview of the Higher Education Department.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's initiative played a key role in expediting this decision. The government acted swiftly following requests from the vice-chancellors of various universities.
Among the approved positions, Osmania University has the highest number of vacancies, with 252 posts. In contrast, Telangana University will be filling only two positions.
The government released GO 31 and GO 141, which include amendments to previously issued government orders. Based on these, the Higher Education Council and the respective universities are now preparing plans to accelerate the subsequent recruitment procedures.
The Telangana Assistant Professor recruitment process, slated for 2026, is expected to provide a good opportunity for unemployed individuals. Officials are aiming to complete this recruitment drive promptly.
