Two students died and several others were injured after lighting poles fell during a Dandiya event at MVSR Engineering College in Nadergul, Rangareddy district, on Saturday evening, October 17.
The incident took place during the college’s 'Sangamam–2026' technical and cultural fest. The Dandiya program was in progress when the poles collapsed.
Approximately 25 students sustained injuries in the incident. Five of the injured students are in critical condition.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the final number of casualties or the exact reasons that led to the lighting poles falling.
