Bathukamma's flowers came with a handloom twist in London this year. The Telangana Association of United Kingdom (TAUK) celebrated Chenetha Bathukamma in London and several other parts of the UK.

About 2,000 people attended the London event. Participants wore Telangana handloom clothes, exchanged festive greetings, and pledged continued support for weavers.

TAUK president Rathnakar Kadudula said the association remains committed to promoting handloom products. General secretary Supraja Pulusu said it was inspiring to see members answer the call by turning up in handloom. Vice-president Shushmuna Reddy said the association's work had given it a distinct identity in the diaspora.

Guests praised TAUK for showcasing Telangana's culture to the world while living overseas, and for the community service of Telangana families in the UK.

Bathukamma, Telangana's flower festival in honour of Goddess Gauri, began this year with Engili Pula Bathukamma on October 10 and ended with Saddula Bathukamma on October 19.
