Minister Narayana stated that Amaravati, the state capital, is highly secure and will not have any waterlogging once construction is complete, as reported by Disha daily. He made these remarks during the inauguration of several welfare and development programs in the Ponnur constituency of Guntur district.
Minister Narayana assured that the capital's construction, along with statewide development projects, will be completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also mentioned that 200 years of rainfall data and weather patterns were thoroughly studied to prevent flood risks in the capital's construction.
Minister Narayana revealed that a robust flood control system was designed in consultation with experts from the Netherlands, under their guidance. This system is intended to protect Amaravati from potential flooding.
As part of this automated drainage and flood control strategy, Kondaveeti Vagu and Palavagu have been expanded, and a gravity canal has been developed using modern methods, Minister Narayana disclosed. This is crucial for water management in the capital region.
These measures are expected to contribute to making Amaravati a flood-free and secure capital in the future. This is an important development for the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as the security of the capital is key to regional stability.
