The Andhra Pradesh government has cut the time taken to clear medical reimbursement claims for its employees and pensioners to one month. Previously, these claims often took more than 12 months, with some extending up to 18 months, to be processed.
This improvement follows the introduction of special measures in November 2025. These initiatives were designed to streamline the process and address the existing backlog of claims.
Padmavathi, chief executive officer of the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, stated that the new measures have successfully reduced the backlog and improved the efficiency of claim processing.
To date, the government has cleared 41,276 pending claims that were submitted through both online and offline channels. This includes a large number of bills reviewed since April of the current financial year.
Approximately 22,600 bills, totaling Rs 152.95 crore, were examined from April until recently. This expedited process aims to provide timely financial support to government employees and pensioners.
