Saddula Bathukamma, Devi Navaratri, and Dasara festivals were celebrated with grandeur in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa, on October 20, 2026. Telugu expatriate families residing in South Africa participated in these festivities in large numbers.
In Johannesburg, the celebrations were organized by the Sri Sai Darshan Charitable Organization (SSDCO) at the Devi Mandapam in Nagayya's Mall. This organization actively works to preserve Telugu culture and traditions abroad.
Similarly, in Cape Town, the Telugu Association hosted Bathukamma celebrations. Women enthusiastically arranged Bathukammas and sang traditional songs, making the event a vibrant success.
The participation of Telugu families settled in South Africa highlights their commitment to maintaining their cultural roots and celebrating festivals with devotion. This effort helps keep Telugu culture alive in foreign lands.
