Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said the government is focused on Singareni Collieries and will strengthen the company further. He held an interaction with Singareni's general managers at Praja Bhavan, Hyderabad, on Sunday. CMD Dr Buddha Prakash Jyoti chaired the meeting, and all 66 general managers took part.

What was reviewed

  • Coal production targets and output so far
  • Coal transport, rake availability and dispatch
  • Production at open-cast and underground mines
  • New mines and future expansion plans

Officials presented the company's progress since the Congress government took office. Bhatti reviewed each GM's duties and field performance and gave directions on raising productivity, capacity and efficiency.

At a review in August, he had asked Singareni to look beyond coal into critical minerals and to bid for mineral and coal blocks in India and abroad.
