The government has initiated a plan to complete a comprehensive land resurvey across all 10,954 revenue villages in the state, to be executed in three phases. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy is set to launch the distribution of Bhudhar cards in his Palair constituency.

The primary objectives of this resurvey are to establish clear boundaries for each land parcel, ensure unambiguous ownership rights, and provide a lasting resolution to land-related disputes.

Bhudhar cards will feature a unique 14-digit identification number for every agricultural landholding, similar to Aadhaar. This system aims to facilitate easy identification of land parcels and enhance transparency in land records.

During a review meeting with revenue officials on Saturday, the minister stated that the survey has been completed in 285 revenue villages. Notices have been issued to landowners to invite any objections, he added.

To accelerate the ongoing survey, the government has finalized tenders for the acquisition of an additional 400 rovers. Currently, 411 rovers are already in use for this exercise.
