Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a high-level review meeting on improving public transport, road connectivity, and recycled water usage within Hyderabad's Core Urban Region (CURE). He directed officials to modernize the public transport system to meet future needs, V6 Velugu reported.
It was decided to introduce a 'Personal Rapid Transit' (PRT) system in key areas of the metropolitan city experiencing severe traffic congestion. The Chief Minister emphasized that PRT routes should be designed to connect major routes used by industrial workers and employees with Metro, MMTS, and main bus stations.
The Chief Minister also instructed officials to ensure smoother traffic flow around KBR Park, building on the existing one-way system. He advised optimizing the signaling system at junctions, free lefts, and U-turns where roads from surrounding colonies merge, to prevent any disruptions.
The Chief Minister conducted a high-level review of the 'CURE' works for the Nagarjuna Circle-Jubilee Check Post flyover. The aim is to complete these works within one year.
These measures are expected to alleviate traffic problems in Hyderabad and provide better transportation facilities for the public. This will significantly ease the daily lives of residents in Telangana's capital.
